I am having doubt in question No. 49 . It is obvious that reaction rate is high but diffusion rate is low. So when reactant molecules or gas is going into the pores of the catalyst , it is going to react very fast on the surface even though diffusion is negligible or low. so only immediate vicinity of external surface of the pellet will be used. Which leads to scenario no. 2 to be valid.

In question no. 38 why can’t we just equal both the head loss of the pipe and the head provided by the pump and get the flow rate??

thanks in advance you guys have been very cooperative.

In case of lower plate temperature cold the system don’t have any natural convection. Only conduction heat transfer will be there so 26 should be answer because conductivity is constant.

Sir, in the numerical type questions is it necessary to write 0 before decimal . In the instruction no information is mentioned regarding it.

Sir can you please tell how you have calculated the value of heat flux fpr flat plate of 39….as no solution is given only answer is there?

If you consider 1 and 3 rd case for flat plate there is am increase of flux by+3 w/m2 while for case 1 and 2 there was a drop of 13 w/m2 for case 2 from case 1 ….then how could this is possible that for case 4 drop is only -3 w/m2 in comparison to case 3. if you see the temperature difference in all thw cases is same and i you calculate the thermal conductivity value for case 1, 2 and 3 are 1.3, 0.867 and 1.4 so how will you calculate value of heat flux as 39?
